Training Nationals for Nationals

Hi friend,

Training Nationals for Nationals in integrity and skills (Psalm 78:72)

We praise the good Lord for the main schedule of Training Nationals in Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal and Myanmar.  However, we do believe that the Lord will have some more surprises for us this year, so we are open and willing to go anywhere, anytime.  Please look into our new website for more details (https://faithatworkfellowship.org). We will up-date on the website, so please visit it often and do introduce others to it, so that many would be enabled to pray for us.

I.        Updates for prayer

A.    Life University, Cambodia (14-19 Jan.) – praise the Lord for the good trip, teaching and preaching in chapel.  The University has some 1,400 students from kindergarten to University degrees in various departments preparing people for the market-place.  We taught in the Department of Theology.  Dr. Yeap, our first timer, did well in his class on Principles of Discipleship.  Teachers are needed for other departments, like nursing, management, computer, teaching, etc.  Please let us know if you desire to help.

B.    Medan, Indonesia (18-23 Feb.) - please pray as a team of two heads for Medan in the training of some 60 pastors and leaders from Medan, Acheh and Nias.  Principles of Discipleship will be handled by Mr John Ching, while Laws of the Teacher and Laws of the Learner will be introduced.  The good Lord will provide some good skills-training.  Thus far, 49 had graduated and a new batch will be graduating in September 2013.

C.    Kathmandu, Nepal (8-15 Sept.) – another team of two will train some 60 nationals from all over Nepal.  Rev. Yap Beng Shin will teach Follow-Up Discipleship while Rev. Simon N. will be in the Mission emphasis on the Life and Missionary journeys of Paul.  Again, our priorities will be on character building and on skills training.  Some 23 had graduated and we are targeting the next batch of graduates in September 2014.

II.          Forward Projection into 2013 – the Lord is moving and working!

(a)            Web-site for the Fellowship – praise the good Lord for the provision of James Hee from Sembawang BPC, who began the website (https://faithatworkfellowship.org) . Please view it and help us with your suggestions.  We also need you to invite others to be informed and to pray for the Lord’s ministry.  How we need the Lord to work in and through us through your prayers.

(b)            Start of Diploma of Christian Ministry program in Singapore – 3 modules per year in March, July and October – 8 modules will be needed for the Diploma or Graduate Diploma.  The emphasis will be on development of character and of ministry.

We pray to train Leaders of FAITH – Faithful, Available, Initiating, Teachable and Hungry (passion for God and people).  These are special God-led leaders who desire to make a difference in ministry and service for the Lord.

First Module:  March 21-23 at Sembawang BP Church, 9 Kalidasa Avenue (Sembawang Teachers’ Estate).

Class times will be interactive on Principles of Leadership in Nehemiah

Dates and times are Thursday, March 21, 7pm to 10 pm; Friday, March 22, 7pm to 10pm; and Sat. March 23, 9am to 5pm.  Then the leaders will work on projects of growth and ministry for the next few months.  After that, there will be reports to be made in the next module.  In the interim, the leaders will be followed up by mentors.

The class will be limited to 10-12 leaders for personal attention and for community building.  The first qualification is that you are a growing disciple of Jesus with qualities of FAITH.  You do have some basic Bible foundation and are in place of influence in ministry and service.  Then you have to know the leading and the nudging of the Holy Spirit, that this is the training that He is leading you into.  Pastors and leaders may desire to recommend your leaders for this great training. Please contact us for a conversation.

This training may be a baby step for some leaders to be led into attending a degree program and into full-time ministry.

(c)            Facilitating an education centre for management in Yangon, Myanmar.  We praise the good Lord for some great strides taken into the establishment of Life Institute of Management.  We are praying for its registration and then the gathering of lecturers and the finances needed.  Praise the Lord for those who are volunteering their services, pro bomo.  We are needing finances for the start-up and the running of the Institute there.  Also we need prayer that the good Lord will send the first great batch of students to be trained for the market place.  These who will be gainfully employed will benefit their churches and the ministry.

(d)           Tie-up or link-up with some Bible college or Seminary as resource partners.  We have already sounded out with Dr. Rev. David Koo, the President of Life University concerning some tie-up with its Department of Theology and of Management. He is agreeable.   We believe that God is working in this matter.  Pray too that the Lord will lead us to other Institutes of Higher Learning.  His will be done.

Thanks again for your prayers and support in so many ways. Please visit FaithatWorks Facebook or our blog, for further news at http://faithatworksfellowship.blogspot.com/. Now the new website: https://faithatworkfellowship.org
