March 2011 update

Hi friend,Training Nationals for Nationals in integrity and skills (Psalm 78:72)

The good Lord gave us a flying start into 2011 with a rousing time in Medan, with some 70 plus pastors and leaders from Medan area, Acheh, Nias Island and one from Jakarta.  This session is our 7th session with some 14 study courses.  The leaders have been faithfully attending and growing well in the Lord.  The bonding is getting better and we all are realizing that we are in the cause of Jesus Christ together.  Together we rise, and together we fall.  As the blessed  Lord reminds us:  we rejoice with those that rejoice; we weep with those that weep.  We usually end our sessions with the observance of the Lord’s Supper, that binds our hearts and lives to Jesus and Jesus only, our Saviour and our Master.  Our prayer is not only to impart information but also to inculcate transformation.  One aspect is the cultivation of a great community of pastors and leaders that care and share.  This attitude should cascade down to the various churches and ministries that God has put them.  Praise the Lord.

A team of 5 was in Myanmar recently.  We ministered at two seminaries and one Spiritual Convention of a fellowship of 30 churches.  The vision of one Seminary, under Rev. James is to reach out to all 7 states and 7 divisions in Myanmar.  Thus far, 10 states and divisions had been reached with churches planted.  This Seminary had its 24th graduation service and we were privileged to be involved in the ceremony.  9 graduated.  The Seminary is also conducting a Masters program every November (this year, 31 Oct. to 9 Nov, 2011).  We are helping to up-grade the Seminary and the pastors and leaders.  Rev. James at present is doing his doctoral studies.  We had some 300 plus for the spiritual convention and their minds and hearts were so receptive to the teaching, preaching and fellowship.  God be praised for raising up His Banner in and through His people.  Please take time to view the photos and to pray for and with us for God’s continued leading and blessings.

Another team heads for Nepal, 1-21 March with lots of people and places to cover.  Besides training, we will be teaching and preaching in churches.  Here are the main highlights.

Master of Ministry classes in Kathmandu
Participants: about 40

·         Mar 13 – 17
Master of  Ministry for East Nepal
Participants: about 40 plus

We definitely covet your prayers for travel blessings and for God’s working in and through us in transforming lives.  Will you ask God to help you to remember to pray for and with us?

Also please pray for the financial support.  Such projects need God’s provision.  We are beginning the Master of Ministry program in East Nepal and a Leadership Seminar and these add to our expenses.  We will need:

·         S$4,500 for 40 people for 5 days in Kathmandu

·         S$4,500 for 40 people for five days in East Nepal

All these will be for board, lodging, transport and materials.  None of these would go to the trainers.Please pray and let us know how you would be able to help.

3.     Thanks again for the privilege and joy of co-laboring with you all in God’s harvest field, which is the world.  Truly the field is white unto harvest and the laborers are few.  Our vision is to train Nationals so that they in turn will reach out to their own.  How we must pray first!  How we must pray most!  How we must pray always!  Pray without ceasing is God’s command.  Thus we must pray and not be weary.  O Lord, teach us to pray!
