Gems of Good Friday

Topic: Gems of Good Friday
Preparation for Good Friday and Easter 2024
by Rev Goh Seng Fong

Feb 22: Designed by God

Feb 29: Release through Forgiveness

Mar 7: Eternity through Salvation

Mar 14: Triumph over Tragedy

We come together to remember and reflect on the suffering and death of JESUS on the Cross for our sins. It is also a day of hope and redemption, symbolising the triumph of GOD over Satan, light over darkness, and life over death, thus opening the door to eternal life and salvation.

The series on Gems will focus on GOD's eternal Design, His merciful Forgiveness, His gracious Salvation and His ultimate Triumph over death, Satan and hell.

🙏🏼 GOD bless you and all of yours as you continue towards a greater and better 2024, growing in faith, obedience and sacrifice to the Glory and Praise of GOD. Amen.

The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the Name of the LORD. Psalm 129:8

Boundaries

Boundaries
(by H. cloud)

When you build a fence around your yard, you don't build it to figure out the boundaries of your neighnbour's yard so that you can dictate how he should behave. You build it around your own yard so that you can maintain control of what happens to your own property.

Boundaries do the same.

Boundaries help us stay true to who we really are. When we own our boundaries and hold to them without a question mark at the end, it helps us avoid having those boundaries violated and having inappropriate responses as a result.

Have you seen this play out in your own life? God created us to have boundaries and to respect the boundaries of others.

Session One: Thursday 12 October “Guard My Heart”

Session Two: Thursday 19 October “Boundaries and God”

Session Three: Thursday 26 October “Boundaries and Me”

Session Four: Thursday 2 November “Growing Heart”

Lessons from Joseph’s life

(a) God used afflictions and suffering to steer Joseph towards a particular course in his life. Are we also facing trials and tribulations? Is God steering us in a particular direction?
(b) Through the afflictions and suffering, Joseph continued to be faithful and obedient to God. Likewise, are we faithful and obedient to God despite the difficulties in our lives?
(c) God directed Joseph through his hardship. Are we able to sense God’s direction in our lives?
(d) God is in full control of our lives, events and circumstances. Knowing this, how should we live our lives?
The above lessons and questions will lead us in a closer walk with God, understand His will for our lives and be blessed.

Session 1 - August 3, 2023 Joseph and his brothers
(a) Joseph, the most loved son of Jacob, went through slavery, imprisonment, and victimisation by his brothers. What was God’s purpose?
(b) How do we identify with our own pain and suffering with God’s purpose?

Session 2 - August 10, 2023 Joseph’s imprisonment, dream and promotion
(a) Joseph’s imprisonment and God’s purpose.
(b) Joseph’s dreams
(c) How do we look at setbacks in life and how does God afflict us for a purpose?
(d) Joseph became prime minister of Egypt and the brothers came to Egypt for food.

Session 3 - 17 August, 2023 Joseph was reunited with his brothers
(a) Joseph’s brothers were then fearful as their misdeeds against Joseph came back to haunt them. (b) But, Joseph was gracious and forgiving and they were reunited in brotherly love.

Session 4 - 24 August, 2023 “You thought evil but God meant it for good”
(a) Joseph’s brothers thought evil against Joseph, but God meant it for good that Joseph would go to Egypt and save his family from famine.
(b) In many ways, God takes good care of us. Through affliction and suffering, God prepares a better place or circumstances for us.

TWELVE ORDINARY MEN

TWELVE ORDINARY MEN

Jesus chose The Twelve that were inadequate in status, education, ability and capability. Jesus knew their personalities, both strong and weak.
He knew that they would disappoint and deny Him. However Jesus knew they would soon be transformed and empowered to carry the Gospel to the ends of the known world.
Let us examine our life and commitment from the ways Jesus dealt with these lives and submit ourselves to His transforming power to be and to do His will.
Please do pray and invite loved ones and friends to these exciting lectures.
God bless you and all yours as you continue for greater and better 2023, growing in faith, obedience and sacrifice to the Glory and Praise of God. Amen.
